What Is Beauty

If people want to define “beauty,” they will immediately come up with concepts like slenderness, the tallness, delicate face, etc. Which a fashion model has. However, are those girls who have all the elements really beautiful? I think the answer is negative. To me, a true beauty must be a confident woman.
Beauty is not only skin-deep. A real beauty may not have the figure that fits designers’ clothes, and may not have white complexion as Snow White does, either. It doesn’t matter which race she belongs to, and whether she is tall or not. Moreover, she doesn’t have to look like Audrey Hepburn or Chiling Lin. In fact, underneath the appearance, there is only a factor that makes a girl beautiful-confidence. A person who is confident will never despise herself. In that way, she will stand upright, express herself clearly, and meanwhile show her advantages gracefully. Accordingly, every movement of her will attract people’s attention. On the contrary, if a person doesn’t have confidence, even if she looks gorgeous, she can’t be considered a beauty.
Take the super model Chiling Lin as an example. She is undeniable a beauty. However, in my point of view, what makes her beauty complete is her confidence. She is not shy to show her features, and she always looks elegant and never hesitates. Therefore, with her confidence, she is brave to experience more things. In addition, I had an English teacher when I was in high school, who is chubby but is generally considered beautiful. When I saw her at the first sight, I even thought she was fat. Nevertheless, when I knew her more and talked more with her, I changed my mind immediately. She was articulate and also elegant. Even if she was overweight, she loved herself. I really appreciated her a lot because through her firm sight, I could strongly feel that she never felt inferior to others. That moment was the first time I realized what a true beauty was.
By contrast, I once had a classmate who is white and tall. She had a gorgeous face but a passive personality. She is too shy to show her features. Thus, though she is a pretty girl, few people will really appreciate her. There was something missing in her. I think, it was her lack of confidence that made her ordinary and you will not pay any attention to her.
Beauties are always welcomed. But many people’s concept of beauty is often distorted. Who says a beauty must have big eyes and a fit figure? Who says a heavy girl can’t be considered a beauty? In my point of view, every girl who is confident can be a beauty, no matter she is tall or short, heavy or thin.

If someone faces him-/herself honestly, he/she must be a beauty.
